MONTGOMERY – The Thompson Warriors were well-represented at one of the biggest showcase events of the year in the state of Alabama as
Kadyn Bush suited up for the North All-Stars. Bush featured in both legs of the North-South All-Star Classic doubleheader on Wednesday, July 23 at Lagoon Park in Montgomery. Bush had some difficulty out of the gate for the North All-Stars, but it was shared with her teammates on the offensive side. The South All-Stars threw a combined no-hitter thanks to the efforts of Wicksburg's Ellie Cox, Satsuma's Anna Jo Bonds and Saraland's Myleigh Dobbins. Bush went 0-for-2 in the game as the South struck out seven of the 23 batters they faced in a rapid-fire 91-minute game. The North mustered just two base-runners all game, both off walks. Bush then came in for an inning of relief during the second game after starter Cataryna Scheriber got into trouble with the first two runs of the game. Bush had a run charged against her, but she still performed well across the inning of work by striking out two of the five batters that she faced. The South would go on to win game two 4-2 after scoring twice in the first inning. The North cut the deficit to 3-2 in the fifth inning before the South slammed the door shut in the sixth inning. Bush was one of the key members of the 2025 Thompson team that won the Class 7A state championship. A South Alabama commit, she batted .443 and earned a .528 on-base percentage and .565 slugging percentage for a 1.093 OPS. She also had a 2.37 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 90 strikeouts as a pitcher. Bush earned an All-County First Team selection and a Class 7A All-State Second Team pick. In addition to Bush's selection, Chelsea's
Kadyn Bush, Pelham's Jordan Young and Spain Park's Klara Thompson were each selected to the All-Star teams. However, none of the three played in either of the games. Brown was selected as an athlete after primarily playing shortstop for the Hornets in 2025. She finished her junior season with a .363 average, .424 on-base percentage and .611 slugging percentage for a 1.035 OPS. The Kennesaw State commit earned those stats with 24 RBI and 34 runs off 41 hits, including eight doubles and six home runs, and she finished 10-for-12 on stolen base attempts. Young also was selected as an athlete as she both played shortstop and pitched as part of the Panthers. At the plate, Young earned a .417 average with a .459 on-base percentage and .729 slugging percentage to secure an OPS of 1.189. She finished the year with 37 RBI and 27 runs off 40 hits, including nine doubles and seven home runs, and she also was a perfect 12-for-12 on stolen base attempts. In the circle, Young was one of the top pitchers in the area with a 1.41 ERA and a 0.88 WHIP after giving up just 21 runs in 68 innings. She racked up 71 strikeouts on the year against only 20 walks. The Mercer commit Thompson racked up 33 RBI and 34 runs off her 33 hits and bashed six home runs on the season. She was also a perfect 20-for-20 on stolen base attempts in 2025.
