Alabaster, AL — March 31, 2026 — Thompson High School is proud to announce the appointment of Brandon Walker as the first Head Coach of its inaugural Girls Flag Football program. The 2026 season will mark a historic milestone as Thompson fields its very first flag football team.
Coach Walker brings a strong football background and a proven track record of success at both the collegiate and high school levels. A former student-athlete at the University of West Alabama, Walker went on to serve as a defensive assistant for the program. During his tenure, he was part of a staff that secured three Gulf South Conference Championships, helping solidify the program as one of the premier teams in the conference.
Following his time at West Alabama, Walker transitioned to the high school ranks, serving as an assistant football coach at Hillcrest High School. There, he established a strong reputation for player development and contributed to the program's continued growth. His time at Hillcrest further solidified his reputation as a dedicated and knowledgeable coach.

The addition of flag football reflects Thompson High School's ongoing commitment to expanding athletic opportunities for its students. With strong leadership, thorough planning, and continued support, the Warriors are well positioned to begin competing at a high level both on and off the field.
