2025 State Championship Game Information

Dear Warrior Family:

We are incredibly proud of our Thompson High School Warrior Football Team for advancing to the 2025 Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) State 7A Football Championship! We applaud Coach Freeman and his staff, the Warrior Football Team, the Marching Southern Sounds, our cheerleaders, and all of our fans who made this happen! Kickoff for the 7A Championship will be Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 7:00 pm against Opelika High School at Protective Stadium in Downtown Birmingham.

ACS hopes to make the Warriors’ eighth straight showing at the AHSAA Super 7 a community-wide event! We encourage everyone to attend the game and all activities associated with this exciting moment in time. For students, faculty, and staff to have an opportunity to safely travel to and from the game - and for the benefit of ACS employees who plan to attend - system-wide dismissal and start times for Wednesday and Thursday will be as follows:

Wednesday, December 3, 2025:

  • ACS campuses will operate on a one-hour (1) early dismissal.

  • Your student’s school will communicate the exact release times for car riders and bus riders.

  • After-School Care and extracurricular activities will be canceled.

Thursday, December 4, 2025:

  • All grades will start school on a two-hour (2) delay.

  • Buses will also operate on a two-hour (2) delayed schedule.

  • Breakfast will not be served (lunch will be served).

  • Schools will operate on a normal schedule once we begin. After-School Care will operate as usual.
