Air Attack Leads Thompson to Victory over Hillcrest Tuscaloosa

Trent Seaborn could hardly be stopped through the air as the Thompson Warriors put up 45
points on the Hillcrest Patriots to remain perfect in region play and lock up a top two seed in the
region.
Seaborn finished 30/42 for 403 yards with 4 touchdowns and 1 interception, finding six different
receivers for 3+ catches.
After a long drive that ended in an interception, Seaborn came back and threw a 54-yard perfect
pass down the middle to RJ Evans to open the score up to 7-0. After a quick series for Hillcrest,
he hit Darion Mosely to put the Warriors up 14-0 as the first quarter ended.
Despite the 400+ yard night through the air, Michael Dujon and EJ Evans combined for 186
rushing yards with Dujon getting two touchdowns on the ground with his first coming on a 2-yard
run to make it 21-0.
Hillcrest then scored shortly before halftime to make it 21-7 but left just over 40 seconds on the
clock. Seaborn and the office were able to march down the field quickly to set up a John Alan
McGuire field goal to go up 24-7.
Thompson got the ball the start the second half and after a two and a half minute drive, Seaborn
found Kimbrough for one-handed catch of the year to go up 31-7.
Hillcrest kept playing hard and got a few big plays resulting in two more Touchdowns on the
night, but Thompson wasn't going anywhere with Moseley answering one of them on a diving
touchdown and Dujon answering another taking it 30-yards right up the middle to the endzone
to make the final score 45-20.
Helping Trent to his video game numbers Friday night was Dedrick Kimbrough who had 9
catches for 142 yards and that incredible one handed touchdown catch. Darion Moseley had 5
catches for 63 yards and found the endzone twice. RJ Evans had 3 catches for 61 yards and a
touchdown. Michael Dujon and Brooks Byars both had five receptions and Jaden Kelly-Campbel
had three for 37 yards.
On defense – Jared Smith, Vini Pires, Chance Strown, Kevin Davis, Cam Pritchett and Trent
Cheatom all had 8 tackles on the night. Jared Smith had four tackles for loss including 1.5
sacks. Pritchett and Strown had two tackles for loss with Pritchett getting 0.5 sacks. Peter Ramil
and Wesley Gover each had two QB hurries while Seth Green also had a tackle for loss.
Damonte Tabb had an interception and Payton Lewis caused a fumble.
Next week is a big one as Hoover comes to Warrior Stadium unbeaten in region play as well
and the winner of next week's game will win the 7A Region 3 championship. Thompson is
guaranteed a top 2 seed and a home game in the playoffs regardless.
