Warriors Advance After Dominant Win Over Carver Montgomery

The Thompson Warriors opened the AHSAA 7A playoffs in dominant fashion Friday night, defeating Carver Montgomery 31-7 at Warrior Stadium. In the second meeting between the two teams this season, the Warriors once again proved too much to handle—taking control of the game early and never looking back.

Thompson's offense fired on all cylinders, finding success both on the ground and through the air. The run game consistently picked up big chunks of yardage, wearing down Carver's defense and opening up opportunities for explosive plays in the passing attack. The balance kept the Wolverines guessing all night as the Warriors marched up and down the field with confidence and precision.

While the offense impressed, it was the Thompson defense that stole the spotlight. The unit was nearly flawless, shutting down Carver's offensive efforts from start to finish. The Wolverines' only points of the night came on a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown—one of the few miscues in an otherwise dominant performance. The Warriors' relentless pressure, disciplined tackling, and lockdown coverage set the tone from the opening kickoff.

With the 31-7 victory, Thompson advances to the second round of the playoffs, where they will host Mary G. Montgomery on Thursday, November 14, at 7 p.m. at Warrior Stadium. Riding momentum from a complete team performance, the Warriors look poised to make another deep postseason run.
