Thompson High School Announces Boys Soccer Coaching Transition
Alabaster, AL — Thompson High School and Alabaster City Schools are announcing a leadership change in the Warriors men's varsity soccer program. After two years of dedicated service as Head Coach, Alex Levinson will be transitioning into a new role within the school system but will remain involved with the soccer program in an assistant coaching capacity.
Under Coach Levinson's leadership, the varsity boys soccer team has made tremendous strides in both performance and culture. His commitment to student-athletes, strong work ethic, and vision for the program have left a lasting mark. Thompson Athletics is proud of his contributions and wishes him continued success in his new position.
Stepping into the role of Varsity Head Coach is Greg Vinson, who served as the team's assistant coach this past season. Vinson brings valuable experience to the program, having previously served as Head Men's Soccer Coach at Birmingham-Southern College, where he led the team through multiple successful campaigns and earned a reputation for developing high-performing athletes.
"We're excited to promote Coach Vinson to this role," said Director of Athletics Vincent Pitts. "His background at both the high school and collegiate levels positions him well to continue growing the success of Warrior soccer. I would also like to thank Coach Levinson. Coach Levinson has provided great leadership throughout the last few seasons, and we appreciate his leadership and dedication in advancing our program these past few years. We wish him the very best in his new role."
Thompson Athletics is excited to move our soccer program forward to the future under Coach Vinson's leadership and looks forward to continued growth in key areas within our program.
