Thompson grabbed it's fourth region win of the season to improve to 5-2 (4-0) after a 15-10
victory over the Hewitt-Trussville Huskies at Warrior Stadium largely thanks to the Anquon
Fegans and the Warrior defense as well a strong showing from sophomore quarterback Trent
Seaborn.
After an opening drive for Hewitt that ended in a missed field goal, Thompson's defense was
able to stand strong keeping the Huskies off the scoreboard in the first half. In the first quarter,
Anquon Fegans was able to force a fumble from Hewitt's offense that
Payton Lewis picked up
and returned all the way inside the 5-yard line.
Thompson scored a touchdown that was called back for a penalty, and that allowed Hewitt to
have a goal line stand against Thompson. The Huskies were forced to start their drive at the 1-
foot line where Hewitt quarterback Noah Dobbins was swallowed up in the endzone for a safety
to give the Warriors a 2-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
After a few traded series back and forth, Thompson got the ball on their own 14-yard line. The
offense was able to put together a drive all the way down the field, capped off with a 1-yard
touchdown run from
Michael Dujon to put the Warriors up 8-0 at the half.
In the third quarter, Thompson was able to put together another drive ending in Seaborn
connecting with Fegans on a 27-yard touchdown pass to make it 15-0.
Hewitt was able to drive the length of the field to score and cut the Warrior lead to 15-7 late in
the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, Hewitt was able to drive again, but after a big stop on
third down at the 6-yard line, Hewit opted for a field goal to make it 15-10.
Thompson burned most of the clock off before being forced to give it back to Hewitt with a long
field to go, and the defense was able to come up with a few big stops, capped off by an Anquon
Fegans interception, his second of the night.
Fegans earned player of the game honors for his two interceptions, forced fumble, 94 receiving
yards and a touchdown.
Nick Alston finished with the most tackles in the game with 13,
including two tackles for loss.
Cam Pritchett also had two tackles for loss while
Trent Cheatom,
Vini Pires, Jared Smith,
Kevin Davis and Peter Remil also had tackles for a loss as well.
On offense, Seaborn finished 16/26 for 211 yards and a touchdown, plus 6 carries for 21 yards.
RJ Evans led all rushers with 67 yards on 20 carries. Dujon had 34 yards on 12 carries and a
touchdown. Fegans' 94 yards was the most in the game, but
Trey Knight,
Darion Moseley, RJ
Evans and Jaden Kelly-Campbell all had multiple receptions as well.
