The Thompson Warriors earned a convincing 35-3 victory over the Vestavia Hills Rebels on Friday night, pulling away in the second half after a tight opening. The Rebels struck first with a field goal to take an early 3-0 lead, but the Warriors answered quickly with a touchdown to make it 7-3. That score held through halftime as both defenses stood tall, keeping the game within reach.
Coming out of the break, Thompson flipped the switch and completely controlled the game. Quarterback Trent Seaborn sparked the offense with sharp passing and efficient drives, guiding the Warriors to four second-half touchdowns. His poise and play making ability set the tone for the offense as Thompson scored 28 unanswered points to put the game out of reach.
On the defensive side, safety Damonte Tabb stood out with several key pass breakups that stalled Rebel drives and gave the Warriors' offense more opportunities. His efforts, along with a dominant defensive front, kept Vestavia Hills from building any momentum after their opening score. By the final whistle, Thompson's adjustments and execution on both sides of the ball proved too much, sealing another statement win for the Warriors, who now sit at 3-0 in region play.
